Joan Ramon Vilamitjana

Joan Ramon is a senior communications consultant specialized in developing creative strategies for companies facing challenging circumstances.

He’s a seasoned corporate and crisis communications consultant and has specialized in developing creative narratives and strategic approaches to clients in need of growth, change or protection against reputational and regulatory threats.

During the last 20 years Joan Ramon has advised companies in industries ranging from automotive, energy, food + drink, healthcare and technology to retail.

He joined H+K in 2001 as a consultant in the corporate communication and crisis division. He led the Barcelona office since 2005, and became Managing Director in 2011, overseeing also the Madrid office. Since 2017 he’s the Chief Executive, leading a group of 50+ consultants who make one of the fastest growing agencies in the Spanish market.

Prior to joining H+K Joan Ramon worked for two years in local agencies as a consultant for local Spanish bluechips. He has a background in journalism and spent three years working across local media.

He completed the General Management Program at IESE and holds a degree in history. He is member of  dircom, the Spanish trade association of communications directors.

Antonio Sánchez

Antonio joined H+K in 2015, as an Account Director in the Corporate Communication division. He has over 20 years of experience as a senior consultant in both multinational and local PR agencies, with a good knowledge across different sectors (FMCG, Public Sector, Start up, eHealth, Distribution, …). He works with a wide range of H+K clients, providing strategic and tactical counsel.

Before joining H+K, Antonio worked for five years at a local PR and Marketing agency, and two years in Vocento Group (one of Spain’s main media group), working for multiple companies.

During this time, Antonio actively participated in the definition and development of corporate and reputation management plans across different sectors including Real Estate (Gesinar, Bancaja Hábitat, Cushman & Wakefield), Distribution, Food & Beverage (Philip Morris International, Spanish Tobacco Growers, Canary Island Brewing Company & SAB Miller), Associations/Sectorial Groups (Ecoembalajes Spain –Ecoembes-, UNESPA -Spanish Union of Insurance Companies-, Federation of Spain Footwear Industries –FICE-, PVC Iberian Forum).

Antonio graduated in journalism from Complutense University (Madrid). Antonio was an entrepreneur in several technology startups (Kiubick.com, Smartime investment fund and Unico&Cool). He is fluent in Spanish and English.

Palmira Muñoz

Palmira Muñoz joined the company in 2016 with over 18 years of experience in both local organizations and PR agencies. She has a solid background in strategic communications, product launches and brand positioning, and a strong knowledge of the ICT market. Due to her position she coordinates the activity of the department and is leading the brand communication, for both international and local clients, with worldwide names like NetApp, Intel, Lenovo, Vertiv, Dolby or Amazon Web Services.

Before joining H+K, Palmira worked for 16 years at Porter Novelli, as Account Director of IT companies (HP, Fitbit, Schneider Electric, McAfee, etc.). She also demonstrated great expertise in organizing all kind of press events and working very closely with the marketing department. Previously she worked for media outlets including Onda Cero Radio and in the PR department of the Spanish Representative Office of the European Parliament in Madrid.

Palmira holds a degree in Journalism from Universidad Complutense de Madrid and a degree in Corporate Communication and Public Relations. She speaks Spanish and English.

Mònica Navas is leading the healthcare expertise at Hill+Knowlton Strategies since joining the company in April 2006 and has been responsible for the growth of this practice in Spain. She currently combines her work with clients in the pharmaceutical sector with accounts in other sectors such as Food&Nutrition, Wellness or Education.  He is at this time involved in clients such as Boehringer Ingelheim, P&G Healthcare, Kids & Us or Danone Institute. Previously he worked for Abbott, Alcon, Amgen, Astra Zeneca Bayer, Clínicas IVI, Ferrer, Intermune, Lundbeck, Laboratorios Thea, Merck, Novartis, UCB Pharma or Zambon.

In the last 13 years Monica has specialized in the design of awareness campaigns, patient advocacy plans, the launch and positioning of drugs and products, or the creation of relationships with medical societies and key healthcare stakeholders, among other areas.

Mónica has 20 years of experience in communication. Before joining H+K, she worked for more than 7 years in two local agencies, carrying out editorial projects, internal communication and corporate communication for the sectors of logistics and transport, public services, healthcare and pharmaceuticals. In her early days as a journalist, she collaborated in different local television channels and several media as a freelance journalist.

Mònica has a degree in journalism and a postgraduate degree in Advertising. She also studied philology. She is a member of ANIS, the Spanish Association of Health Journalists.

Her native languages are Spanish and Catalan. She speaks fluent English and has notions of French.

Mireia Sáenz de Buruaga

As Director in Corporate and Crisis Communications, she brings more than 10 years of experience in corporate communications, brand reputation and crisis and issues management.

She has worked in defining and developing communication strategies for industrial players coming from sectors such as the automotive one (Honda Motor Europe España and SEAT), logistics and infrastructures (Port of Barcelona, Applus+) and the pharmaceutical industry -leading several projects for companies like Sanofi, Almirall and Chiesi-.

Her skills cover strategy corporate positioning, PR strategies, media relations and bespoke and media trainings. She has also developed projects in change management and internal communication, including the definition of the internal corporate storytelling, engagement plans and trainings in leadership communication and messaging workshops, among others.

Prior to join H+K Strategies, Mireia has worked as a consultant and account manager in local PR agencies, leading crisis communication projects, from crisis and issues’ response and management, to preparation (crisis communication handbooks, protocols and simulation exercises) and bespoke and media trainings.

Additionally, Mireia has taken part in several communication projects linked with the city of Barcelona, in particular for the Urban Ecology Area of the Barcelona City Council, the public-private partnership Barcelona Clúster Nàutic and the port city area of Port of Barcelona.

She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism (Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona) and postgraduate studies focused on International Economic Relations and Intercultural issues (Universidad de Barcelona and Universidad de Belgrano, Buenos Aires).

Cristina Pinilla

Cristina joined the Public Affairs Team at Hill+Knowlton Strategies Spain in 2021.

During four years and a half, Cristina worked as advisor at the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation, first for ministers Luis de Guindos and Román Escolano and, since 2018, at the Cabinet of vice president Nadia Calviño.

Her tasks ranged from communication advice (storytelling, communication strategy) to political and parliamentary advice (engagement with other ministries, parliamentary groups and political parties, political strategy advice).

Cristina started her professional career at the news agency Europa Press, first at the Brussels office and, later, as editor at the local desk in the Autonomous Community of Madrid and as economic correspondent stationed at the Parliament.

Over the years, she has specialized in the creation of storytelling to convey to different audiences and she has also gained deep understanding of the decision making process and the legislative procedures at different levels of the Administration. Used to work in high complexity environments and to face conflict settlement.

Cristina is graduated in Journalism by Universidad Complutense of Madrid and Master in Public Policy (MPP) by the Willy Brandt School of Public Policy of Universität Erfurt (Germany).

Cristina speaks Spanish, English and Italian.

Jaume Rios

Jaume joined the Public Affairs team at Hill+Knowlton Strategies Spain in 2021.

In recent years, Jaume has promoted the public affairs firm 19N Strategies, together with two partners. This project has focused on advising companies in the technology sector, start-ups and digital platforms that, with their activity, generate disruptions in the public sphere. He has coordinated client accounts in sectors such as Smart Delivery, Fintech, Proptech, Consumer Goods, Tourism and Mobility.

Previously, Jaume has worked in firms specialized in political communication. He was a consultant for Ideograma, a leading firm in Spain and Latin America. He has had the opportunity to work on electoral projects and campaigns in Spain, Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, Ecuador, Colombia, Panama and the Dominican Republic.

During his career, Jaume has specialized in regulation on the digital economy, as well as traditional industries. At the same time, he has experience in corporate storytelling in complex contexts and in the creation of spaces for dialogue between the public and private sectors. He also has deep knowledge in managing campaigns based on data analysis and public opinion.

Jaume combines his consulting work with teaching at universities such as Pompeu Fabra University or Ramon Llull University, both in Barcelona.

Jaume was selected in the Young European Leaders program (2020), run by the US Department of State (IVLP).

Jaume has a degree in Political Science and Public Administration from the Pompeu Fabra University of Barcelona. He speaks Spanish, English, French and Catalan.

Íñigo Martínez

Íñigo Martinez Redín has a significant experience as a communication professional, first as a journalist and subsequently as a leader in public departments, specializing in regulated sectors, public affairs, crisis management, and media relations.

He formerly served as Communications Advisor to Nadia Calviño, the First Vice-President of the Government and Minister of Economy. During this time, he developed the communications strategy for Recovery Plan topics, the agreement with Brussels on reforms and investments package, and the arrival of the first Next-Generation EU fundings. Previously, he served as Director of Communications at the Ministries of Energy and Industry.

He began his journalism career more than 20 years ago in the economics area of Onda Cero Radio. He covered international conflicts, political and parliamentary current affairs, and economic forums such as the Davos Forum and the G20 Summits as a journalist.

His last professional stage was in public communication, where he advised four ministers and two vice-presidents of multiple political stripes over the course of five legislatures.

Martínez Redín has a journalism degree from the Universidad del País Vasco, a master’s degree in international relations and communication from the Universidad Complutense and has completed an executive program at the Insead Institute.

Arnau Vidal

Arnau’s role at H+K Spain is to oversee the agency’s creative output as well as to enhance its creative offer and culture. He specializes in strategic + creative planning, campaign development and purpose-driven storytelling crafting. He delivers breath of sector expertise – with a great focus on FMCG, entertainment and health + wellness. As a Creative Director, he works for a diverse range of clients – from Telefónica to Disney – while serving as head of The Madrid Studio, H+K Spain’s in-house creative, design + production services team.

Since joining H+K in 2011 his career has been closely linked to creativity. As part of the consumer practice in Barcelona he led the client team working for toy manufacturer Mattel, delivering strategic counsel and developing multi-channeled campaigns for brands such as Barbie or Fisher-Price –including the award-winning campaign ‘We are Monster High’ to relaunch the Monster High brand in Spain.

Afterwards, he moved to Madrid where he was in charge of H+K Spain’s digital practice, leading a multi-disciplinary team across both the Madrid and Barcelona offices. During that time, he was responsible for enhancing the agency’s digital and content offer, as well as serving as a strategic team lead for a range of clients including Intel, Danone and Dolby.

Arnau holds a bachelor’s degree in Advertising and Public Relations from the University of Barcelona and completed a postgraduate program in Branded Content and Transmedia Storytelling from INESDI Digital Business School.
